World Stage Tour Music Competition (Live)
Eligibility and Participation:

The World Stage Tour Music Competition is open to musicians of all ages and all nationalities.

All applicants can apply for both Live and Online competitions.
​

Categories:
Each category has two groups --- Group A and Group B. Group A is for advanced applicants, while Group B is for intermediate and beginner. All applicants may apply for both groups.

Prodigy I (Age Under 6)

Young Musician I (Age 12-13)

Emerging Artist (Age 16-17)

Application Deadline and Fee:

The application must be submitted by March 25th, 2025. Submissions must be on time to be accepted.

A non-refundable application fee of 100 USD is due with the application. If one applies for both Group A and Group B, the application fee is 160 USD.

There will be an additional entrance fee of 60 USD for the final.
Video Submission:
-
Video should be submitted by the March 25th deadline. If one applies for both Group A and Group B, only one video is required.

The preliminary video should be uncut and unedited (without effects, zoom, titles, or fades). The contestant’s face and hands should be visible at all times.

The video recording should be of good technical quality (no dynamic compression).

Works may be recorded in one take or separately.

Performance by memory is recommended but not required.

Contestants may perform with or without repeat as long as the performance duration meets the requirement (for the time range of each category, please refer to the Repertoire page).

One or more works may be performed as long as the length of program meets the requirement.

Videos may be uploaded on Youtube, Youku, Bilibili, and other platforms upon request. Please be sure that the video link is working before submitting it.
Invitation to The Final Round:

Preliminary Round decisions will be made and Invitations to the Final Round will be sent by March 30th.

Judges will invite contestants from each category to the Final Round in San Diego, California, on April 12th.

All selected contestants must reply whether or not they can participate in the Final Round, and if so, submit their programs by April 1st and pay the entrance fee (no program change after submission).
Final Round:

The final Round program can either be the same as the Preliminary round or different.

No change of program after program submission (Due April 1st).

Contestants may perform with or without repeat as long as the performance duration meets the requirement (for the time range of each category, please refer to the Repertoire page)

Competitors who exceed the allotted performance time may not perform the whole program.

Memorization is recommended but not required.

Schedule of Performance:

All contestants must arrive at the performance venue at least an hour before their assigned time slot.

Warmup rooms with pianos will be available for all the contestants.

The competition committee will draw the order of each contestant’s performance, which also reserves the right to make any necessary changes.

Other Rules:
*Competitors must wear appropriate concert attire.
*The live competition will be open to the family and friends of all contestants.
*Competitors may not communicate with the judges during the competition.
*All decisions made by the judges are final.
*Competitors who do not adhere to the rules and regulations of the competition may be disqualified.
*World Stage Tour competition is not responsible for the contestant’s cost of travel, meals, lodging, or other expenses.
*The World Stage Tour Competition Committee reserves the right to modify dates, venues, regulations, and other competition-related details as necessary.
Program Requirements (For BOTH Groups A and B in Each Category)
Group A is for advanced applicants, while Group B is for intermediate and beginner. All applicants may apply for both groups.
Prodigy I (Under 6)
Preliminary Round: Up to 2 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Final Round: Up to 2 minutes program selected by the contestant

Prodigy II (6-7 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 3 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Final Round: Up to 3 minutes program selected by the contestant
Junior I (8-9 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 5 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Final Round: Up to 5 minutes program selected by the contestant
Junior II (10-11 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 6 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Final Round: Up to 6 minutes program selected by the contestant
Young Musician I (12–13 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 7 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Semi-Final & Final Rounds: Up to 7 minutes program selected by the contestant
Young Musician II (14-15 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 9 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Semi-Final & Final Round: Up to 9 minutes program selected by the contestant
Emerging Artist (16-17 years old)
Preliminary Round: Up to 10 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Semi-Final & Final Round: Up to 10 minutes program selected by the contestant
Professional Artist (18 and up)
Preliminary Round: Up to 20 minutes program chosen by the contestant
Semi-Final & Final Round: Up to 20 minutes program selected by the contestant
Amateur (18 and up) / None Music Major
*Contestant who has ever studied in piano performance major may NOT apply for this category.
Preliminary Round: Contestant’s choice of a program that is up to 10 minutes.
Final Round: Contestant’s choice of a program that is up to 10 minutes.
